The Peace Treaty of 1388-1390 between John I of Aragon and Eleanor of Arborea
Abstract
This essay is an attempt to trace the political-diplomatic process that resulted in the signing of the 1388 peace agreement between the Crown of Aragon and the Judgedom of Arborea, thereby ending an impactful late Fourteenth century war temporarily. My main purpose here - while a full length study with an integral edition of the treaty is under preparation - is to provide a detailed map of the sources available, as an instrument of critical investigation around a set of late Medieval Mediterranean historical developments.
