"Castaways... In Search of a Star"
Abstract
Naufraghi… in cerca di una stella”. Un esperimento di pratica filosofica in carcere, Universitalia, Roma 2019 was edited by E. Baccarini and F. F. Aversa. It was born from the experience of a Philosophy workshop at the High-security Section of the Rebibbia Prison (Rome). This section will report the phenomenological and anthropological reflection of one of the editors, Emilio Baccarini, Professor of Moral Philosophy at Tor Vergata (Rome). This work centers on the feeling of marginality and exclusion suffered by inmates. While Philosophy has a long tradition of reflecting on punishment and guilt, Baccarini wonders whether Philosophy itself could make prison more understandable and humane.
