Setting Gaspara Stampa to Music
Abstract
The text has three objectives: to introduce the figure and work of Thomas Oboe Lee, the composer who dedicated an opera to Gaspara Stampa in 2014; to analyze the work, seeking to account for compositional choices and offering readers a concise listening guide; to interview the author, asking him to explain the reasons for his choice and the criteria that guided it.
