Emotion, Faith and Jealousy in the «Rime» of Gaspara Stampa
Abstract
In Gaspara Stampa’s Rime, there is a co-presence of bodily emotions and spiritual fervours that has very few parallels in 16th-century poetry. The article explores the intertwining of religious sensibility and analysis of the passion of love by investigating the cultural structures within which her poetry collection took shape.
