Abstract

La Belle Époque per le scuole, published in the appendix of ’77 edition of Certi romanzi, for the highly irreverent tone has all the verve of a ‘modest proposal’, capable of upsetting the conduct of the Italian Literature program as an institutional canon deposit. The eshibition organized with sharp irony, with the support of the Arbasino amazing abilities nomenclatoria and of his well-oiled critical sharpness, begins with emotional blackmail by horrendous ‘Padron ‘Ntoni, drug dealer confused senseless proverbs guided by a wisdom capable of killing. It continues with a block diagram criminal pairs and ends with a lonely portrait of Gadda, full of ideas on his passions and idiosyncrasies, shared by many students. One of all , the avversion toward  Foscolo bullfighter narcissism. In the midst of changing from Edmondo (De Amicis) to  Giacomo (Puccini), from Filippo Tommaso (Marinetti) to Guido Gustavo (Gozzano), from Manzoni and Verdi, from Carolina Invernizio, the hen, to Garibaldi, here as the author of novels more than General. All undergo the same game in the massacre of a critical review irreverent and cheeky, but instead succumbed, leaving more alive.
