Abstract

This article presents a comparative analysis of the solarpunk novel I vegumani by Clelia Farris and the short film Pumzi by Wanuri Kahiu, through the theoretical-methodological perspective of posthuman feminism. By incorporating elements of utopia and dystopia, both works focus on the interconnectedness of the human and the (plant) non-human as a potential path to regeneration in a post-catastrophic scenario. Drawing on the theories of Donna Haraway, Stacy Alaimo, and Angela Balzano, among others, the article examines these case studies through the thematic trajectories of posthuman hybridizations, plant agency, and multispecies radical care, to explore potential modes of existence despite — and beyond — the Anthropocene.
