Fictions: Truth, Lies, Possible Worlds. A Survey
Abstract
This article introduces a long term, and basic cultural issue ranging from literature to philosophy, from performative arts to Media Studies: the debate about truth and lies, fiction and reality in modern and contemporary criticism. Four main lines of critical reflections are identified: multiple-possible worlds theories; autofiction and hybrid texts; the sphere of virtual realities; and the field of rhetorics of fictionality.
