Transmedial Passages. Remarks on the Heuristic Potential of a Transmedial Research Perspective in the Wider Field of Comparative Literature
Abstract
In the light of the vast debate on relations between media and on today's convergence culture, the present contribution focuses on the concepts of inter- and transmediality, with particular attention to the field of 'transmedial narratology'. The aim is, on the one hand, to raise questions as to the basic understanding of 'transmediality' in comparison with 'intermediality' and as to how these categories can be defined against one another; on the other hand, to map out the heuristic potential of a transmedial research perspective in the wider field of Comparative literature.
