The Assistant Ungrateful: Academia and Coercion
Abstract
The anonymous and grey character of the "assistente" - deeply different from the Assistant Professor in the anglo-american University System - is analyzed, in the article, through the contemporary narratives of Giuseppe Pontiggia, Antonio Tabucchi, and Remo Ceserani.
In the feudal and pre-modern Italian University System, the "assistente" becomes the paragon of the unsuccesful loser, living in a sort of AgenticSstate and dominated by the Dynamics of Power and Crowds...
