Métaphore, phraséologie et création littéraire : une approche phraséostylistique de Stupeur et tremblements, d’Amélie Nothomb
Abstract
This work looks at the various manifestations of metaphor in literary creation within the framework of phraseostylistics, a sub-discipline of phraseology which describes the role played by phraseological units in the development of discourse, and possibly literary texts. We begin by examining the relationship between metaphorical thought and its manifestations in language, particularly in ideographic languages, and then explore the way in which this thought is translated into matrix and reticular metaphors in literary creation, in this case in Amélie Nothomb’s Stupeur et tremblements. Through our phraseostylistic analysis of metaphor in this work, from its presence in conventional or contrived phraseological units to its role as a fabulistic element in literary creation, we conclude that it has undeniable status as an author stylem in the elaboration of this book.
