Around the Roman des romans: essential coordinates and analysis of the prologue
Abstract
This paper presents the analysis and edition of the prologue of the Roman des romans. The edition is based on the manuscript New Haven, Yale University, Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, Beinecke MS 590, the oldest and best complete manuscript of the text, unknown to previous critical editors. Additionally, an overview is offered to provide the essential outlines for a correct contextualization of the work.
