At the beginning this kind of literature helped to put an end to the so called ‘pacto de olvido’, as the authors and their novels were part of a huge movement questioning Spanish recent history. But after a first moment this literature may have become a trend, pushed by literary industry.  In 2007 Isaac Rosa published a novel called ¡Otra maldita novela sobre la guerra civil!, a re-edition of his first novel La malamemoria containing a cynical and sarcastic comment to it. As the title suggest the book has a critical approach to the "memory novel" and to the cultural industry that invested on it. Through a complex auto-fictional mechanism, Rosa asks for the reader’s participation in process of re-elaboration of the past. By doing this, he moves his attention from the contents of the historical narratives to their forms, questioning the role of literature in contemporary societies. ER -
