The Gaze and the Letter. Iconotextual Rhetoric in Sebald and Maron

  • Nicola Ribatti
Keywords: Iconotexts, Rhetoric, Sebald, Maron

Abstract

Taking inspiration from the studies of Michele Cometa and Roberta Coglitore on the rhetoric of literary photo-texts, the contribution attempts to examine the strategies of iconotextual rhetoric in some works of Sebald and Maron, underlining how the different strategies used respond to different interpretations of visual media and this media’s capacity to recall the past.
